All About My Wedding Day

smiling on bench

I wanted to dedicate a blog post to how I felt about my wedding day, such as what I liked and things I would have done differently. Even though there are things I would change, I still had the most perfect day and couldn’t believe how much fun I had. I will remember this day forever, but for now, here are the things I absolutely loved:

What I loved:

  • Photographer- Kayla Sevcech Photography is absolutely amazing. She coordinated all our pictures, made sure we got all the shots we needed, and was extremely flexible with anything we wanted to do. Daniel and I are both camera shy; however, she helped us with poses and made sure the pictures were perfect. Daniel and I are blown away at her work and are so happy we chose her. Also, my uncle who has Eddie Hade Photography, took so many amazing pictures as well. He captured the beautiful background in our pictures and also the people’s faces as they were walking down the aisle. I absolutely love his pictures as well and am very grateful I was able to have them both there.
  • My bridal party and everyone who helped with makeup, hair, etc.- I was so blessed to have my family and friends help me with touch ups, getting my dress on, and making sure I had everything I needed on that special day. They will never know how much I truly appreciate and love them.
  • Bridesmaid Dresses- I cannot rave enough about Lulu’s and how easy they made it to get the bridesmaids dresses. I originally wanted to go with a light blue color for the dresses but could not find anything I liked in that color; therefore, I found some gorgeous burgundy dresses on their site. I waited a little too long to get the dresses; however, Lulu’s came through and shipped the dresses so quickly. I would definitely recommend using them if you need fast shipping.
  • Venue- Our venue was called Summit Farm Weddings and I couldn’t think of a more beautiful place to get married. The view was breathtaking and was exactly what I wanted with a casual barn for the reception. Everything was set up so beautifully and we were surrounded by the people we loved.
  • Dj- If you live in the North Georgia area, definitely check out Dustin Cheek and the Backwoodz Boys. They are amazing, very affordable, professional and reliable. I cannot recommend them enough!

What I would do differently:

  • If I could go back, I would definitely have a coordinator for every little thing. We did have a coordinator for the ceremony; however, having one for every little moment would have been extremely helpful. There are so many little things that nobody tells you like who’s going to cut the cake or who is going to tell everyone when to come together. It can be super overwhelming; however, having someone that can coordinate all of it is very helpful.
  • The second thing I would change is to have fun with the planning and ASK FOR HELP! I tried to do everything myself and it just wasn’t working the way I had hoped it would. Seriously, do not be afraid to ask someone for help. I was too afraid to do that and I ended up making mistakes. I was also so stressed out about planning everything and making it perfect that I forgot what it was truly about. Don’t get so caught up in the planning that you forget why you are doing it. Remember that this is going to be the best day of your life and just because you don’t have everything perfect, doesn’t mean your day will be ruined.
  • The third thing I would change is the way I had my hair done. I absolutely loved everything about it for the first hour; however, when I walked outside and arrived at the venue, my hair wasn’t even curled anymore (totally my fault). Curling irons don’t work on my hair and of course I still tried to use one that day because I thought the curls would look better (terrible idea). The humidity was so bad that day that my hair would not cooperate and anyone that knows me knows I have to have my hair perfectly curled 95% of the time. My hair wasn’t as voluminous as I wanted it and it just didn’t look right to me; therefore, I had to recurl it myself. My advice to anyone that wants to do anything out of the ordinary is to NOT do it! Whatever hairstyle you want, definitely try it out a few times before you make your decision.
  • The last thing I would change is to have a sit-down dinner. We did provide food; however, we only went with finger foods. Also, if anyone knows my Chick- Fil-A addiction, you would know we had their chicken nuggets as well. I loved the food; however, I think it would have been a bit more elegant with an actual dinner.

Before Wedding Day

  • Book your venue at least a year in advance, if you can.
  • Work with a coordinator for every little detail of your wedding.
  • Remember your photographer is EVERYTHING! Definitely choose a good one for your wedding day. You won’t regret it.
  • Read reviews on everything, such as photographers, hair and makeup artists, dj’s, etc. Definitely ask around and see which ones most people prefer. This definitely helped me choose who to work with for my wedding.
  • Be open to change. You may not get everything you want for your wedding, but it always works out.
  • Make a checklist of everything you need the day of your wedding and double check it! Keep all of it together so you don’t forget anything.
  • Sleep as much as you can the night before! You will feel so much more refreshed the day of your wedding.

Tips for wedding day

  • Don’t have high expectations for your wedding day. Definitely go with the flow. It came a downpour a couple hours before my wedding and the ceremony was supposed to be outside; however, God just cooled it off a little before the ceremony. We had amazing weather for the ceremony and the rest of the evening.
  • Allot enough time to get ready and take pictures. I suggest having a coordinator keep you on track. Luckily, our photographer Kayla Sevcech coordinated our pictures for the day and kept us on track, even when we didn’t completely stick to the schedule. It took a lot of stress off of us and allowed us to enjoy the day.
  • Have enough snacks and drinks while you are getting ready. Luckily, a family member brought us snacks that day and kept me from being “hangry” during the ceremony.
  • Enjoy every moment because it goes by way too fast.

All in all, it was the best day of my life and I am forever grateful that God gave me Daniel. I can’t imagine my life without him and I grow to love him more every day.

Lessons my Daddy taught me

Since it is almost Father’s Day, I wanted to share some lessons my daddy has taught me throughout my life. However, I want to start off by saying that my daddy is one of the most loving and kind-hearted people you will meet. He cares for his family and others and never complains when times get hard. He is an amazing dad and deserves the absolute world. Now that I have told you a little bit about him, here are some lessons he has taught me:

  1. Stay in church. This is the most important lesson that he has taught me and has impacted me so much throughout my life. I have seen how God has worked in my life and how he continues to bless me each and every day. My daddy also taught me a bible verse that I have loved ever since. It is, Matthew 17:20- “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.” It’s crazy how much this verse has impacted my life because recently I have been thrown many curve balls; however, even in those tough times where my faith was weak, God revealed something even greater each time.
  2. Work hard-life is hard. From sun up to sun down, my daddy has always worked hard, whether it be on the farm or doing electrical work. I have never seen someone work as hard or long as he does every day and he is truly my inspiration.
  3. Put in the work and you will reap the benefits. He is always working spiritually and physically to serve the Lord and others around him. I hear him all the time in church praying for people and even if he doesn’t know them that need prayer, he still prays for them. Even outside of church he gives as much as he can and never lets people go without.
  4. Never give up. Throughout my life, I have noticed that it hasn’t always been easy for him but even when times got tough, he never gave up and always persevered. This lesson has helped me so much because just when everything seemed impossible, he gave me a reason to keep going and the benefits were unimaginable.

These are some lessons that shaped who I am as a person today. I am forever grateful for these lessons and that he can still teach me things today. Happy Father’s Day daddy. I love you to the moon and back.

Why God’s Plans are Greater Than My Own

gods plans pic.jpg

I have always tried to plan my life and have things work out in my timing. Obviously life doesn’t work that way because God doesn’t work that way. The past few months have been filled with more stress and anxiety than I could ever imagine. I felt like I tried to do everything “right” by graduating college and then getting married; however, I realized that everyone’s life is different and there is not one “right’ way to live life. At this time, I also didn’t realize how much stress came with it all, such as finding a job and a home. I am a very patient person for the most part, but when it comes to things I can’t control, I feel as if I can’t handle the unknown.

We had been searching for a home for about a year and couldn’t find anything within our budget. As you can imagine, the stress started to become more than I could bear.  At that time the only thing that brought me comfort and peace was the bible verse Mattthew 21:22 which said “if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” I kept hearing it in my head and knew that God had a plan: I just didn’t understand what that plan was and when it would happen.

A couple days later, I had a dream that we found a home for rent.  I began to wonder what that meant because when I woke up, I instantly felt better about the situation. Within a week, I noticed a Facebook notification that someone had tagged me in a picture.  By this time, I had almost given up looking for a place to live. The picture was a beautiful home that was just put up for sale and it was within our price range. I instantly called the realtor and made plans to look at it the next day with my fiancé. We both ended up loving the place and put in an offer. After that, everything went so smoothly and we recently just closed on our home.

What I’ve realized through this process is that we all want to feel like we made it, but God’s timing might not be in our timing, and just because it hasn’t happened yet, doesn’t mean it won’t ever happen. I often feel like God tests people’s faith and it makes their relationship with God stronger because right when you feel that something is impossible, he makes it possible. He makes it worth it and also makes us humble. God is such a loving God but he also wants us to trust in him fully and not to worry.

I hope that this post helps someone that might be in a similar situation or doubting God’s plans for his or her life. Just know that Gods plans are so much greater than our own and that if we trust in him, he will provide for us.

Phillipians 4: 6-7- Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel.

Skincare Products for Acne-Prone/ Sensitive Skin

Hey everyone! I hope you are having an amazing day! Do you ever wonder which products are best suited for your skin type? It took me a while to figure out which products would and wouldn’t irritate my skin and cause it to break out. If you don’t know, I have sensitive, acne-prone skin; therefore, I have to be careful with what I put on my face. I am going to share with you some skincare products that I use that do not break out my skin.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes: These makeup removing wipes are the only ones that I will use from the drugstore. I have tried many others and most of them have dried out within a few days or just didn’t remove my makeup. I am picky about what I use to take my makeup off with because my skin is super sensitive and if I leave makeup on my face when I go to bed, I will usually wake up with a breakout. With these wipes, I find that they remove most of my makeup; therefore, it cuts down the time I spend cleaning my face. In my opinion, these wipes are the best ones to get if you are lazy like me and want to take your makeup off really quickly.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple One Step Cleanser: This cleanser is my absolute favorite cleanser of all time because it takes a lot of my makeup off, cleans my face, and doesn’t dry it out. I’ve noticed that since I have been using this cleanser, my face hasn’t been oily or dry (Winter can sometimes dry out my skin in certain areas). It has been super normal, which is not usual for my skin. My skin is normally super oily with a few dry patches in certain areas; however, with this cleanser, it does not have that effect. I truly love this product because it works well to clean my skin and is suitable to all skin types.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser: This cleanser is also one of my favorites because it is gentle on the skin and suitable to all skin types. It has an amazing scent and makes my face feel clean.  I am super sensitive to smells, so whatever I use on my face has to smell decent. I don’t think that it removes all my makeup; therefore, if I use it, I will go in with a makeup remover to cleanse my face before I wash it with my Cetaphil cleanser. I would recommend this cleanser to anyone who has sensitive skin because it is super gentle and has an amazing, fresh scent.

Clarisonic Mia Skin Cleansing System: I love my Clarisonic because it does a great job at exfoliating my skin. When I use it, I notice that my makeup goes on smoothly and it gets rid of any dry patches on my skin. I really think that having a good skincare system helps with how my makeup goes on and sets into my skin. It allows my makeup to sink into my skin without sitting on top and looking so unnatural. If you are having problems with your makeup sitting on the surface of your skin, try exfoliating once or a twice a week and see if it helps.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water: I use this cleansing water every night with a cotton pad because it takes the remainder of my makeup off after I cleanse my face. You would be surprised at how much makeup is left on your skin after you wash it. Once I started using this product, I realized how much makeup I actually left on my face every night. I also think that is why my skin broke out so much when I wasn’t using this product. I take my eye and face makeup off with this product and it is super gentle so I don’t have to worry about it burning my eyes. If you want to ensure that all your makeup is taken off for the day, I would definitely recommend buying this product.

Cera Ve Moisturizing Cream– I love this moisturizer because it prevents my skin from getting dry patches after I wash it and it also helps my makeup apply smoothly. It doesn’t make my face greasy at all and feels amazing on my skin. I also love that it comes with a ton of product; therefore, I don’t have to buy it as often. This moisturizer is my absolute favorite and I would recommend it to anyone!

I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful, especially for those of you with sensitive skin like mine. If I can be of any assistance, please message me any time. I would love to hear from you! 🙂

5 Ways to Live a More Positive Life

Hey guys! I want to share with you 5 ways to live a more positive life. It’s extremely easy to get down when things aren’t going your way. It can also be really hard to find happiness and come out of that slump when you don’t have anything to motivate you to do that. Today I want to share some tips that have helped me stay positive when I was in a slump.

1. Do something that you absolutely love! Whether it is watching your favorite show, drinking coffee (like me), working out, or whatever makes you happy. It might be coming out of your comfort zone and doing something you have always wanted to do; however, whatever it may be, just do it. You want to continuously have something to look forward to so that you can keep those positive vibes throughout the day.

2. Spread love and encouragement everywhere you go. Even if you are having the crappiest day ever, make it a point to spread those positive vibes. This can be through complimenting someone, holding the door open for them, or just simply smiling at people as you walk by them. I never noticed this, but when I am happy, I realize more people around me act that way as well. Also, you never know how much of an impact you could have on someone’s day by simply spreading some kindness.

3. Take some time to reflect on all that you are given. I know this tip seems very simple, but when you get overwhelmed and feel like nothing is working out, think about everything you have been given and all you are grateful for. The way I do this is through walking. Walking gives me the chance to reflect on my life and enjoy the beauty that God created. Many times we have this mindset that we are entitled to much more than what we are given and that is the time when we have to sit back and realize that this life we are given is a privilege and God can take it away at any moment. Also, God knows what we need and when we need it; therefore, he will provide for us in his time, like always.

4. Surround yourself with people that make you happy. More than likely if you are always around negative people, then you are more likely to have a negative attitude. Make sure that the people around you are encouraging and make you feel good about yourself. There is nothing worse than having someone degrade you or your ability to do something.

5. Download either a devotional app or an inspirational app with daily quotes. I downloaded “Inspirations” which are bible verses that pop up on my phone once a day. They are great reminders to stay humble and inspire me to apply them to my own life.

I hope that you will try some of these tips and that they will work for you as they have for me. Sometimes it can be very hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but just know that only you can make it better and that there is always a reason to be positive. I hope that these tips were helpful and if you have any questions or comments, feel free to message me any time!

Love yourself. It is important to stay positive because beauty comes from the inside out. -Jenn Proske

“That’s What Faith Can Do”

Hey guys, I know this isn’t normally what I talk about on the blog but feel that I need to share this with you. If your faith is weak or you just need a blessing, please read this blog post.

A few days ago, I received my devotional for the day, which said “Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is. Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.” I thought it really spoke to me because it reminded me that God is not done. He has a plan for all of us whether we believe it or not. As stressed as I had been with all the unknowns in my life, I felt so much peace that morning and knew that God didn’t want me to worry anymore.

Later that evening, I went to Daniel’s house and sat beside him as he read his bible. After a few minutes of thinking about the verse that I read that morning from my devotional, I decided to share it with him, not knowing what he was reading. After I shared it with him, he looked at me with a scared look and said “look what I’m reading.” It was the exact same verse that I received this morning on my devotional! Guys.. God is so real!! I know there are many things that can get us down and allow us to think that God isn’t on our side, but days like these confirm that God is always there and that if we truly trust in him, he will not let us fail.

That what faith can do

Also, something that I do when I feel down is listen to worship music. I love the song “What Faith Can Do.” When I listen to it, I remember all that God has done in my life and what he continues to do for me daily. It’s a great way to take the focus off of myself and just praise him for a little while.

I hope this story blessed you as much as it blessed me. I wanted to share it with you because we have so many things happen daily that we don’t understand and little miracles like these definitely confirm our beliefs and what God can really do in our lives. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me any time! Also, I would LOVE to hear about some miracles that God has performed in your life!

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

xoxo,

Hannah

January Favorites

Jan favs.jpg

Hey guys! I wanted to share with you some of the products I have been LOVING this past month. You might have seen some of these products in my previous posts, but I wanted to share some of them again because they are just so good and worth the hype! Here are my January favorites….

Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer (light)– I know everyone is raving about this concealer but it truly is the best one I have ever tried (even better than my mac pro long wear). It is easy to apply and blends out very easily. This concealer is extremely full coverage and takes the smallest amount to cover any darkness or imperfections. It also comes in many shades; therefore, I think anyone could find their perfect match with this concealer. It is a little pricey; however, I believe that it is worth every penny because you get a ton of product and it will not dry up. This concealer lasts such a long time, so you don’t have to worry about constantly buying it all the time. I definitely recommend this concealer, especially if you are looking for one to last all day.

YSL Black Opium Eau de Parfum– Let me just tell you…. This is my FAVORITE perfume ever! If you are looking for a nice perfume that is going to last all day, I would definitely recommend this one. What is funny about this perfume is that I think it smells better the longer I wear it. I have gone many places and been asked what I was wearing and I had been wearing the perfume for a good eight hours already. The smell is heavenly! It is very feminine and kind of smells like a mix of flowers and vanilla. I love this perfume so much and the best part about it is that it lasts all day long, yet it isn’t overpowering.

Fake Bake Flawless Darker Self Tanner– Every time I have applied my self tanner lately, it has always been my fake bake. I know I have previously mentioned this self tanner in my favorite self tanners post, but I wanted to share it again because I love it so much. After I apply it, I am left with a deep, dark brown color and it looks so natural and smooth. I don’t notice any streaks with this self tanner and it is so easy to build up if I want the color to be darker. I also really like this one because it doesn’t stick to my dry patches; therefore, if I don’t exfoliate that well, it won’t look crazy on me. I really love this tanner and would recommend this one above all the others I have tried.

Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser – This cleanser has really helped keep my face clean this month. I have been recovering from extremely bad cystic acne and painful, tiny whiteheads I would always get around my nose and mouth and this cleanser has helped a bunch with keeping my skin free of them. I don’t think it helps with preventing cystic acne because a lot of that is internal; however, I don’t get those annoying whiteheads anymore; therefore, I know this product helps with acne on the surface of the skin. I believe it has helped my skin so much because it is a makeup remover and cleanser all in one. It takes almost all of my makeup off while cleansing my face. If you want to try this cleanser but don’t want to buy the big bottle, there is a smaller bottle where you can test it out first. This cleanser is definitely worth a try if you suffer from annoying whiteheads or just need a good face cleanser.

Mally Poreless Perfection Foundation (light)– This makeup really surprised me because when my face was breaking out with those huge bumps, I felt like no makeup could cover them or make them look less noticeable. I decided to try this powder because someone in my family recommended it to me and it looked so pretty on her skin. After I applied my regular foundation and concealer, I applied this makeup to those huge bumps on my chin and was super surprised because it actually covered them and made them look almost invisible. If you are struggling to find some makeup that actually covers your blemishes, I would definitely recommend this powder.

Its a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product Plus Keratin– This leave-in conditioner has done wonders for my hair in such a short period of time. I can’t rave about this product enough. It really tames my hair and leaves it so smooth and tangle-free. I had such a hard time finding a product that would actually make my hair look healthy and am so happy that I tried its a 10! When they say “miracle Leave-in Product” they aren’t joking.

Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick (Milk & Cookies)– This lipstick is so good! Finding good quality drugstore lipsticks are extremely difficult to come by so this product really surprised me. It is a matte lipstick; however, it does not dry out my lips or leave those weird lines. It goes on smoothly and stays on all day long. I really love the colors too and that it has so many different ones. You definitely need these in your life!

I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful! If you have any questions, feel free to message me any time.

“Live happy, share love, be undeniably fabulous!”

5 Things You May Not Know about Me and My Fiancé.

Hey everyone! I hope you are having an amazing day! I want to share with you 5 things you may not know about me and my fiancé.

1. We met when we were fifteen and it took me the longest time to actually talk to him. We began instant messaging on facebook and then texting; however, when he tried to talk to me in person, I would walk away because I was too nervous to talk to him. When I finally got the courage to talk to him, we starting hanging out and became best friends. Im sure that now he probably wishes I would quit talking as much but I always joke with him that he is going to be stuck with me forever in June.

2. We LOVE to eat! Our favorite things to eat are Mexican and pizza. I never thought I would find someone as picky as me until I met Daniel; therefore, if we can’t decide what to eat, then Mexican or pizza usually wins.

3. My fiancé is one of the happiest people I know. He always encourages me in whatever I am doing and his positivity really helps me get through hard times. I am guilty of assuming the worst about everything and he has a way of keeping me positive and happy. I think that is why we are so good together because when one of us is down, we always try to pick each other up.

4. Our favorite thing to do besides eat is watch football and Netflix together. We are big Georgia Bulldogs fans and when we aren’t watching football, we are watching Netflix. If you haven’t seen Shooter or Taken, you need to watch them! They are both so good and very action packed!

5. We try to put God first in our lives as much as we can. We both know that good relationships don’t last without God and we want to always put God in the center of ours. Sometimes Daniel will send me scripture or daily devotionals and most of the time they are exactly what we need when we are stressed or just need some advice. I truly feel that he is the perfect person for me and that God knew what he was doing when he put us together.

I hope that you learned some new things about our relationship and thought it was interesting. If you have any questions, feel free to message me any time! Also, what are your favorite things to do with your significant other?

Let all that you do be done in love. – 1 Corinthians 16:14

How to Fake Longer Lashes Using All Drugstore Products!

longer lashes.JPG

Hey everyone! I want to share with you how I fake having longer lashes using all drugstore products. I’ve never had long lashes and for the longest time was so envious of everyone who did because I had no idea how I could make them look as if they were longer. At the time, I was terrified of eye lash curlers because I thought that they would pull out my eye lashes (I’ve heard some crazy stories); however, I eventually realized the correct way to use them and now don’t go a day without using them. Even though eye lash curlers are amazing, I also believe that the type of mascara can make or break your lashes. I am going to share with you three products that I use (all from the drugstore) that truly work for me to make my eyelashes look longer.

Revlon Gold Series Lash Curler: This lash curler is amazing! I love it because it curls my lashes so well. If you have seen me without makeup, then you know that my lashes are extremely short and straight. With this lash curler, I don’t have to worry about them being so short or looking crazy because it gets the job done. When I curl my lashes, I usually curl them about three or four times, just to make sure that I curled all of them. I also make sure to curl them before I apply my mascara. It is best to do it this way so your eyelashes don’t get stuck to the lash curler, causing them to be pulled out. I have tried other eyelash curlers; however, I didn’t like them as much as I like this one. I truly think it is amazing and have gone through like 3 of them now. I do replace my lash curler when I notice it to have too much mascara on it, just so it works better.

Loreal Original Telescopic Mascara (blackest black): This is the best mascara that I have ever used! I love it because it doesn’t clump my lashes and makes them extremely long! It is very difficult for me to find a mascara that won’t clump my lashes and with this one, it doesn’t do that at all. I also find that I can apply a good bit to my lashes and build up the color. The only downfall with this mascara is that it doesn’t get extremely dark like other mascaras I have tried. For this reason, I go in with another mascara that is a bit darker to darken up my lashes, which allows them to stand out better.

Maybelline Volume Express the Falsies Mascara (very black): This mascara works well to darken my lashes and it only takes a couple coats to get the job done. I think this is a great mascara; however, if you use too much, it does clump your lashes. I love this mascara and that the color gets so dark. If you want your lashes to really stand out, then I definitely recommend trying this product.

I hope that you found this post to be helpful and if you have any questions, feel free to message me any time! Also, what are some of your favorite mascaras?

If it makes you feel beautiful, then do it. -Unknown

My Favorite Self Tanners

Hey everyone! Today, I want to share with you my favorite self tanners. I’ve never been one to lay in the tanning bed or in the sun very long so having these products to use has been a life saver! I am definitely one of those people that cannot stand to be pale. I don’t know why, but I don’t look good pale at all. I definitely did not get the dark skin tone that most of my family seems to have.

Before we get started talking about my favorite self tanners, I want to quickly explain that you need to shave and exfoliate very well before you apply any self tanner to your skin. This will ensure that the tanner soaks into your skin and doesn’t sit on the surface, and you will get a deeper and darker color. I have used many self tanners in the past and wondered why they didn’t get me very dark. Lets just say I was being lazy and not exfoliating before I applied it; therefore, it sat on the surface of my skin and most of it washed off with the color guard the next morning. The products that I use to exfoliate include exfoliating gloves, a sugar scrub, and my clarisonic. I don’t think that you have to go out and buy the clarisonic to exfoliate your face, but I have just had mine for a while and it is what works best for me. I will link all of the exfoliating products below if you want to check them out. Here are my favorite self tanners.

1. Fake Bake Flawless Darker: This self tanner is one of my top favorites because it is easy to use, the color is a nice, dark brown color (no orange tint) and it has a color guard so you can see where you are applying the product. I also really like the smell because it reminds me of the beach. I love that you can decide how dark you want your tan to be because it is easy to build upon the color you already have. For example, I will put on one coat of self tanner and then a few minutes later I will go in with another coat to darken the color up even more. I like that it works this way so that the color looks more natural and I don’t have to worry about people seeing streaks (been there, done that many times). The only negative thing I have to say about this tanner is that when applying it, it can get extremely messy; therefore, I always put a dark towel on the floor when I spray the product so it doesn’t get all over my bathroom floor. I find that I get a darker color if I spray it directly on my skin but you can also spray the product on the mitt and apply it that way if you think it might be too messy. I would definitely recommend this self tanner to anyone because it’s easy to build up and you can get very dark with this product.

2. Loving Tan 2 Hour Express (Dark): I really like this self tanner because it is a mousse; therefore, it goes on a lot quicker and easier. It isn’t hard to rub in and it leaves you with a pretty, dark brown color. This one has a color guard as well, which helps you see where you applied the self tanner and if you missed any spots. The only negative thing I have to say about this one is that if you don’t moisturize well, it will get streaky within a couple days when it wears off. For the longest time I couldn’t figure out why it would get patchy on me, but when I kept applying lotion every day, it didn’t have that effect on me. I would definitely repurchase this product because when they say “2 hour express” they really mean 2 hours. This tan develops very fast so if you have somewhere to be in just a few hours, then this product would be really great for you.

3. St. Moriz 60 Minute Tan: This self tanner is so amazing because it’s not expensive, it can easily be applied because it’s a mousse, and it doesn’t get streaky at all. I love it because I can put it on really fast and not have weird streaks. This one also has a very dark color guide so you can see where you are applying the product. I find that I am usually reaching for this one the most because it’s so easy to put on and it gets me extremely dark. This self tanner lasts about 3-4 days, but most of the time I still have some color by day 5 or 6. I really think it is all about how good you exfoliate and moisturize so the tan can sink into your skin and last a while. I will link some good exfoliating products below.

4. St. Tropez Classic Self Tanning Mousse: I also really like this self tanner because if you want a nice glow, but don’t want to get crazy dark, then this one would be good to use. This might sound crazy but sometimes I put this on after I get out of the shower and the next night I will go in with another tanner that is darker if I want to build up the color. By doing this, my tan looks so natural and I have been asked many times what I was using, because everyone knows I’m never naturally tan. I don’t think you can go wrong with this self tanner because it is very high quality; however, if you are looking for something to get you really dark very fast, then I would either use the fake bake flawless or the St. Moriz 60 minute tan that I previously mentioned above. St. Tropez does have a starter kit if you have never self tanned before and just want to try it out. I will link it below.

5. Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer (Med/Tan): I love this moisturizer because it enhances the tan that I already have. It doesn’t get streaky on me and it’s great for prolonging my tan so I don’t have to reapply self tanner as often. Jergens also has a face tanner, so if you have sensitive skin like I do, then the face tanner might be best to use on your face so you don’t break out.

I hope that this was helpful and if you have any questions, feel free to message me any time!
